By attending this event you are directly supporting the DC Public and Charter High Schools Latin Dance Program for the school year 2013-2014.
Six Public and Charter DC High Schools will be competing and showcasing their talent through their choreographies before the end of the school year 2013-2014. The After School Dance Fund's (ASDF) program allows students to showcase popular Latin dances, work as a team, and compete with and against other schools. There are Seven divisions in our Competition, six are couples (Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha-Cha, Parent/Student and Jack-n Jill) and one is a Best in Show group division.
Students, who might normally not get involved in extracurricular activities; join their High Schools's After School Dance Club to discover a sense of school pride and pride within themselves. This competition also allows our community and our parents to get involved and shared the pride of their heritage. ASDF believes in having well-rounded students in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, as students that are involved and identify with school activities, are better suited to become global citizens and future leaders.
